The top floor of the chateau was partially demolished in the seventeenth century, when it was de-fortified and a new roof put on. The result is a pitched ceiling rising from about three feet at the front and back and to about fifteen feet in the centre.

There are two bedrooms at the south end over the library - one (to the front) with a double and a single bed and ensuite bathroom (shower head over bath) and one (to the back) with twin beds which can be zipped together to make a superking-size double and ensuite shower room. A small tower room with pretty views opens off the twin-bedded room.

These two bedrooms are accessed through a large central "play" area where there are a children's table and chairs and toys and games. In one corner is a double bed convertible and a TV (French programmes only) with DVD and VHS and a wide selection of DVD and VHS recordings. At the other end of this floor there is an enormous triple aspect room with ensuite shower room. This is very suitable for children there are eight single beds and two futons. Two of the single beds can be zipped together to make a king-size double bed so that this can be used as a family room.

The last bedroom on this floor is a delightful little single room overlooking the park. It is next to the big room but does not have its own facilities.

A two-storey tower opens off the large room. This is very charming like something straight out of a fairy tale but can be kept locked if felt to be unsuitable for small children.

As a safety measure all windows on this floor are fitted with immovable bars (except one which is relatively high up). The top of the stairs is gated with a wood and iron gate matching the bannisters. This can be locked (child-proof) or pinned back against the wall out of the way.

There is a row of outbuildings to the south of the house with a games room measuring about 60ft x 20ft on the upper floor. This has a table tennis table, a gym bench with weights, bar football and various other games. Below the games room. there is an entrance hall where you will find a big box of outdoor games equipment including badminton, croquet, soccer and rugby balls, frisbees, boules, pool toys and a play tent. The bikes are kept in here also. There is also a WC.
